The Friendship PCS Summer Associate Program is a highly selective internship program designed to identify and cultivate our next generation of education professionals. Friendship is seeking exceptional undergraduate students and graduate students from a range of academic disciplines who demonstrate the talent, skills, and values needed to positively impact the quality of urban education and lead our children to high levels of achievement.  

 

Below is a list of a few departments and additional information about work to which you might contribute:

 

Extended Learning Programs: Instructional (Special Requirements:  Current Juniors and Graduating Seniors majoring in Education or Early Childhood Education.)

  • Classroom Assistance: Supporting the teacher with daily lessons and activities.
  • Student Support: Assisting individual or small groups of students with learning tasks.
  • Lesson Preparation: Helping to organize and prepare materials for instructional use.
  • Classroom Management: Assisting with maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Observational Learning: Shadowing the teacher to gain insights into effective teaching strategies.
  • Activity Facilitation: Leading or co-leading educational games and activities.
  • Progress Monitoring: Helping to track and document student participation and performance.

  

Extended Learning Programs: Operations

  • Clerical Tasks: Filing, data entry, and maintaining records.
  • Communication Support: Answering phones and responding to emails.
  • Scheduling Assistance: Coordinating meetings and appointments.
  • Document Preparation: Assisting with drafting and editing documents.
  • Data Management: Updating spreadsheets and organizing information.
  • Office Organization: Helping with inventory and supply management. 

 

Information Technology

  • Troubleshooting, System Updates, Operations, and Hardware and Network Solutions
  • Special Requirements: General knowledge of computer network characteristics, network operating system software, and network components (i.e.: network servers, switches, hubs, routers, bridges, cabling)

Qualifications:

  • 3.0 GPA (Minimum)
  • Undergraduate Students
