Social Media Intern
Illumine8 is seeking a Social Media Intern to support day-to-day social media marketing efforts across our channels. This role is social-first and focused on helping us plan, create, schedule, publish, and track content that supports brand awareness, audience growth, and engagement. The intern will also provide secondary support for blog and written content projects.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is organized, curious, detail-oriented, and interested in learning how social media supports broader marketing and business goals.
Social Media Support
- Assist with planning and maintaining the social media content calendar
- Draft captions, post copy, and basic content ideas for social platforms
- Create and format simple social graphics, carousels, and short-form content using brand templates
- Schedule and publish social media content across relevant platforms
- Monitor comments, messages, and engagement activity, and flag items that need response
- Research trends, hashtags, competitors, and content opportunities relevant to our audience
- Help repurpose existing content such as blogs, podcasts, webinars, and video transcripts into social media posts
- Track basic social media performance metrics and help compile reports
Content and Blog Support
- Assist with formatting, proofreading, and updating blog content
- Help turn long-form content into short-form promotional assets
- Support blog uploads, internal linking, image selection, and basic SEO formatting
- Conduct light topic and keyword research for future content opportunities
Administrative and Team Support
- Help organize digital assets, content drafts, and project files
- Support marketing projects as needed
- Attend team check-ins and contribute ideas for content improvements
Qualifications
- Interest in social media marketing, digital marketing, communications, or content creation
- Strong written communication skills with attention to tone, clarity, and detail
- Familiarity with major social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube
- Comfortable using Canva or similar design tools
- Organized and able to manage deadlines and multiple assignments
- Willingness to learn, take feedback, and adapt quickly
- Basic understanding of marketing analytics is helpful but not required
- Experience with blogs, WordPress, HubSpot, or scheduling tools is a plus but not required

- Social content is drafted, scheduled, and published accurately and on time
- Brand voice and messaging are followed consistently
- Social channels remain active, organized, and engagement-focused
- Blog and content projects receive reliable support without slowing down core workflows
- The intern grows in both execution and understanding of how content supports lead generation and brand visibility
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time internship, with a minimum of 15 hours per week. Core office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The internship requires on-site attendance.
