Position Overview

QCI Hills Laser Marking is seeking a dedicated and hands-on Laser Technician Intern to learn and assist with laser marking operations. This volunteer internship provides entry-level exposure to operating, maintaining, and programming laser equipment in a professional manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in setting up and operating laser marking or engraving machines on metals, plastics, and other materials.
  • Help read and interpret technical drawings, job travelers, and specifications.
  • Support adjustments, calibrations, and routine maintenance on laser systems.
  • Aid in inspecting parts for accuracy, alignment, and quality using precision tools.
  • Document production data, measurements, and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with team members on laser processes.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean workspace.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in laser technology, manufacturing, or machining.
  • Basic familiarity with technical drawings or precision tools (calipers, micrometers).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Eagerness to learn laser software like EZCAD or LPW.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
