Summary

  • The Chemist is responsible for performing chemical and physical testing of pharmaceutical raw materials and finished products using validated methods.
  • This role ensures accurate analysis, compliance with regulatory standards, and effective communication of test results within a laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical and physical testing of pharmaceutical raw materials and finished products.
  • Execute validated analytical methods including spectroscopy and wet chemistry techniques.
  • Identify and report out-of-specification (OOS) or unexpected results.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation.
  • Accurately document and report test results following laboratory procedures.
  • Communicate findings clearly with internal departments.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, GMP, GLP, and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace.
  • Support continuous compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related scientific field.
  • Strong understanding of analytical chemistry principles.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with office software.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Experience with chromatographic data systems.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical or laboratory environments.
  • Knowledge of analytical instrumentation and testing methods.
