Human Resources Intern

The Human Resources intern will help support day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department, with exposure to recruiting, onboarding, training and general HR administration. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in a fast paced, operational environment while developing foundational knowledge in HR best practices, compliance, and employee support.

Essential Functions/Major Duties:

  • Assist with tracking applicants in applicant tracking system.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with candidates, hiring managers, and interview teams; manage calendar invites and logistics.
  • Support reference check coordination and documentation in accordance with company procedures.
  • Schedule pre-employment physicals and/or drug screens and track completion status with candidates.
  • Assist with new-hire orientation preparation and day-of coordination. 
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as data entry in our ATS System, filing/scanning, mailings, and maintaining recruiting/HR records.
  • Support with HR projects such as employee communications, engagement initiatives, or process improvements.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple scheduling requests with accuracy.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and comfort learning ATS tools.

Other:

  • Preferred: experience with scheduling interviews or coordinating calendars in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred: familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) or HRIS platforms.
