Los Angeles County Arts Internship Digital Content & Media Intern

Internship Overview: The Los Angeles County Arts Internship at P.S. ARTS will provide hands-on experience working with a leading arts education nonprofit in digital marketing and communications. Under the supervision of the Communications Associate Director, the intern will conceptualize and produce campaigns, update and organize collateral, create media and web content, and manage digital content and other marketing assets. The intern will play a key role in providing P.S. ARTS’ audiences with access to enriching content.

Primary responsibilities include the following: 

  • Draft creative campaigns and a wide variety of graphic materials for P.S. ARTS § Support in content creation for social media, newsletters, and P.S. ARTS’ website 
  • Assist in documenting P.S. ARTS programs on-site. 
  • Research press contacts and resources in support of P.S. ARTS’ advocacy efforts. 
  • Create and assist with the design of P.S. ARTS collateral.

Requirements and Qualifications: This internship is made possible with support from the Los Angeles County Arts Internship program, which is supported by the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture (LACAC). 

An Arts Intern must: 

  • Be currently enrolled as an undergraduate in either a bachelor’s degree program or an associate’s degree program. (Students who are enrolled in a second BA or BS program are not eligible. 
  • Reside or attend college in LA County; and Be a United States citizen, a permanent resident, or a student with DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival) status valid through the internship period.

Interested applicants should be interested in the arts or arts education, and communications. The ideal applicant should be highly motivated, self-directed, and have strong organizational skills. Familiarity with social media marketing tools and Adobe Suite is important. Proficiency with Mac operating systems is preferable.

Working Conditions: 

  • Lift, push, or carry supplies, equipment, instruments, or furniture up to 40 lbs. 
  • Bend, twist, reach, stand, and/or sit for long periods of time. 
  • View LCD screens for extended periods. 
  • Work with video equipment and be comfortable with video recording and/or being recorded.
