For over 30 years, we have been the “polymer problem-solvers,” delivering innovative solutions for building & construction, CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers), floor care, and more. Join our collaborative team just outside Milwaukee and help develop the next generation of advanced polymers.

The Opportunity We are seeking a motivated Polymer Chemist to join our R&D and technical team. This is an excellent role for a recent graduate or early-career chemist looking to gain hands-on experience in polymer formulation, synthesis, and scale-up in a growing manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Synthesize, formulate, and characterize water-based polyurethane and acrylic polymers
  • Conduct laboratory experiments, including polymerization, blending, and performance testing
  • Perform analytical testing (viscosity, pH, solids content, particle size, FTIR, etc.)
  • Support scale-up from lab to production and troubleshoot manufacturing issues
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and sales teams to meet customer requirements
  • Maintain detailed lab records and contribute to technical reports
  • Stay current with industry trends in polymer chemistry and sustainable materials

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field (required)
  • 0–3 years of relevant laboratory or industrial experience (internships or co-op experience count)
  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a related field is a strong plus
  • Hands-on experience with polymer synthesis, formulation, or characterization is highly desirable
  • Strong attention to detail, safety mindset, and ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; familiarity with lab software or statistical tools is a plus
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
