Community Events Intern
The City of Aurora Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a Community Events Intern to support a variety of community events for the summer (June-August). This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in event planning, marketing, and public engagement while helping bring large-scale events to life for the community.
Position Details:
- Pay: $16/hour
- Schedule: Approximately 10–20 hours per week
- Flexible availability is essential, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with planning and executing community events (festivals, concerts, July 4th celebration, and more)
- Coordinate event logistics including timelines, registration, materials, and setup
- Communicate with vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and City staff
- Serve as on-site support during events
- Assist with post-event follow-up, including thank-you communications and recaps

- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Friendly, professional, and comfortable working with the public
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Canva preferred
- Interest in event planning, recreation, communications, or a related field
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
