Secondary Math and Science Teacher
Reports to: Secondary School Principal
General Qualifications:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in area of instruction, or a related area.
- Licensure by a regional or state accrediting agency preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years teaching preferred.
- Evidence of strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and technological skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will:
- Teach Geometry, Algebra II, Algebra II and Physical Science/Environmental Science
- Demonstrate knowledge of subject area/s taught.
- Demonstrate knowledge of developmental characteristics of the age group taught.
- Effectively utilize the basic elements of instruction (i.e., presenting information; questioning techniques; responding to learner input, and arrangement of learning activities).
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate professional relationships with students.
- Prepare appropriate weekly lesson plans including instructional objectives, planned activities, assessments, and resources.
- Incorporate classroom technology to enhance instruction.
- Implement effective classroom management to provide for a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
