Social Media Intern
Social Media & Content Intern (Growth-Focused)
Vegetable & Butcher | Upper Marlboro, MD (In-Office, 5 Days/Week)
We’re not looking for someone who just uses social media.
We’re looking for someone who lives it.
You know:
- what makes a video stop the scroll
- what works on TikTok vs. Instagram (and why)
- what feels real vs. forced
- what people actually engage with
If you’re already creating content—or constantly thinking about it—you’ll fit here.
About Us
Vegetable & Butcher is a premium prepared meal delivery company focused on clean, high-protein, plant-forward meals. We make healthy eating effortless through frequent delivery and a strong sustainability model.
We are investing heavily in growth and building a serious content engine to support it.
What You’ll Actually Do
This is not a passive internship. You will be in the middle of the business creating content every week:
- Film deliveries, meals, kitchen prep, and team moments
- Capture real-life usage (“what I eat in a day,” workday meals, post-gym, etc.)
- Edit short-form video for TikTok and Instagram Reels
- Post consistently and help grow both platforms
- Work with creator content we already produce for paid ads
- Help identify what content performs and what doesn’t
- Attend in-person events (including occasional weekends) where we promote the V&B brand and capture content
You will be turning real operations into content that people actually want to watch.
What We’re Looking For
- You are active on both TikTok and Instagram and understand how each platform works
- You already create content or have a strong point of view on it
- You have video editing skills (CapCut, native tools, etc.)
- You have a strong interest in health, fitness, food, or wellness
- You have good visual instincts (what looks good on camera)
- You are comfortable filming in real environments (kitchen, team, customers)
- You are consistent and can follow a structured weekly system
Requirements:
- Must be able to work in-person in Upper Marlboro, MD (5 days/week)
- Must have reliable transportation (car required)
What You’ll Get
- Hands-on experience building a real content engine for a growing company
- Direct exposure to how content impacts paid ads and customer acquisition
- A large body of work in a short period of time
You will also:
- Be part of a rapidly growing startup environment
- Work closely with senior leadership, including regular interaction with the CEO
- Sit in on and contribute to key meetings and strategic discussions
- Gain real insight into how a high-growth business operates day-to-day
If successful, this role can turn into:
- A part-time role during your senior year
- A full-time position after graduation
Compensation
We offer a monthly salary (not hourly), based on experience and availability.
Target range:
- $2,000–$3,000/month (full-time summer)
Application Process (Required)
To apply, you must complete the following:
- Send a short note on why this role fits you
- Create 1 short-form video (15–30 seconds) for Vegetable & Butcher
Guidelines:
- Can be filmed however you want (talking to camera, concept, etc.)
- Focus on hook, idea, and tone—not production quality
- We are looking for how you think about content
Who This Is For
- Junior going into senior year
- Spring graduate looking to work in marketing, startups, or content
Final Note
If you’re the right person, this won’t feel like an internship.
You’ll be helping build how this company grows.
