Business Development Intern

Compensation:

  • $200 per school partnership secured
  • No cap on earnings
  • Typical range: $1,000–$4,000+/month depending on performance

About Chess KQ Club:

Chess KQ Club is an after-school enrichment program for K–8 students focused on developing critical thinking, pattern recognition, and confidence through structured chess instruction.

We partner directly with schools to deliver on-site programs, including curriculum, instructors, and optional tournaments.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Business Development & School Partnerships Intern to support expansion into new schools across the Bay Area.

This role focuses on outreach, partnership development, and early-stage growth execution. You will work directly on building relationships with schools and helping bring new programs to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and research target schools (K–8) in assigned regions
  • Conduct outreach to school stakeholders, including:
    • Principals
    • Front office administrators
    • PTO/PTA organizations
  • Communicate the value of Chess KQ Club programs
  • Coordinate introductory calls between interested schools and our team
  • Follow up with leads to move partnerships forward
  • Track outreach activity and pipeline progress

What Counts as Success:

You will earn $250 per partnership when:

  • A school agrees to host a Chess KQ Club program
  • The program is officially approved and scheduled

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable initiating outreach (email, phone, or in-person)
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Organized and able to track multiple conversations
  • Interest in business, startups, or education

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Experience in sales, outreach, or leadership roles
  • Familiarity with local schools or community organizations
  • Interest in entrepreneurship or early-stage startups
