Doma Summer Intern

Location: New York City, In-person required

Duration: Summer 2026, flexible dates

Compensation: $15,000 stipend

Reports to: Company owner (Ravi Arps)

About Doma

Doma is a technology innovation company operating across the built environment — spanning high-end general contracting, property scanning using LIDAR technology, and software development. We build things that are physically real and technically ambitious, and we are developing AI-powered tools to transform how the construction industry operates.

The Role

We are looking for a sharp, intellectually curious undergraduate intern to join us for the summer. This is not a shadow-and-observe internship. You will own real work from day one — contributing to a live AI and software initiative, conducting market and financial analysis, and supporting real estate investment decisions as they emerge.

The ideal candidate thinks like an analyst, is comfortable working in technically complex environments, and has enough coding curiosity to work alongside AI tools to build and test software. You will be embedded with a small, senior team with direct exposure to how a multi-business entrepreneurial firm makes decisions.

What You Will Work On

AI-Powered Construction Technology

  • Take a completed construction project and run it end-to-end through a new AI estimation platform currently in development — this is the anchor project of the internship
  • Perform quality-control testing of the tool's outputs against real project data
  • Document findings, flag issues, and collaborate closely with the development effort on improvements
  • Use AI coding tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor) to assist with light build work — no deep engineering background required, but comfort with vibe coding or low-code tools is a strong plus

Real Estate & Financial Analysis

  • Conduct ad hoc financial analyses to support investment decisions — e.g., land parcel feasibility, comparable home sale research, pro forma modeling
  • Build and maintain investor tracking materials and lists
  • Research comparable sales, pricing trends, and neighborhood-level market data
  • Assist with preparation of investor pitch materials and presentations

Market Intelligence

  • Research competitors, pricing benchmarks, and market dynamics in high-end residential construction and real estate development
  • Synthesize findings into clear, concise memos and presentations for senior review

Field Exposure

  • Join site visits and land walkthroughs where appropriate — get a ground-level view of how projects are evaluated in the field

Ideal Background

  • Currently enrolled in a strong undergraduate business or finance program (e.g., NYU Stern, Wharton, Ross, or equivalent)
  • Previous internship experience in a quantitative or analytical role — private equity, real estate, investment banking, or similar
  • Demonstrated experience with a technically complex project — a capstone, startup, research initiative, or personal build
  • Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate and enhance your work; some exposure to vibe coding or low-code tools is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and an ownership mindset — you do not wait to be told what to do next
  • Based in or able to be in New York City for the full duration of the summer — this role is in-person only

Compensation & Logistics

  • $15,000 flat stipend for the summer
  • Full-time, in-person in New York City — this is a required condition of the role
  • Flexible start and end dates to work around academic calendars

Why This Internship

You will not be making coffee or building decks for someone else to present. You will have ownership of a deliverable that matters to the business, work directly alongside senior leadership, and leave with a portfolio piece you can speak to in depth. If you are drawn to the intersection of real estate, construction, and AI — and want to see how a lean, ambitious company makes decisions — this is the role.
