Operations Specialist

Full time position based in Birmingham, AL with a growing freight brokerage company; seeking a driven professional to book freight, coordinate appointments, maintain relationships, multi-task in a fast-paced environment and problem solve freight-related issues. 

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Broker freight while providing quality transportation solutions to customers and carriers  
  • Negotiate rates, service and terms, schedule appointments and coordinate deliveries 
  • Foster relationships through exceptional customer service and providing tailored solutions 
  • Identify industry and market trends to maintain competitive rates 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, working with team for improving processes 

 

Skills Preferred:  

  • Impressive work ethic and ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Microsoft Suite proficiency, with strength in Excel 
  • Ability to process information quickly and make wise decisions 
  • Ability to maintain long-term customer and carrier relationships 
  • Excellent telephone etiquette with solid customer service skills 
  • Effective multi-tasking, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills
