Summary: 

The Systems Intern will support the Information Technology team by assisting with application integrations, system upgrades, and interface maintenance across key platforms. This role will contribute to enhancing system performance, improving data flow between applications, and supporting ongoing technology initiatives. The intern will gain hands-on experience working with enterprise applications while supporting both daily operations and project-based system enhancements. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with integrations to Application Enhancer for the document retention system, including workflow updates, testing, and documentation. 
  • Support cleanup and updates of application interfaces between Karmak, DBS, CODA, and Coda Cloud, working with XML, Java, SQL, and Azure-based tools. 
  • Participate in system testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities to ensure stable and accurate integrations. 
  • Help coordinate and execute upgrades to ensure all DBS clients are moved to the latest version across the enterprise. 
  • Assist with data organization, interface mapping, and version control related to system enhancements. 
  • Support internal communication regarding system changes, upgrades, and new processes. 
  • Collaborate with IT team members to gather technical requirements and validate system behaviors. 
  • Complete special technology-related projects and tasks as assigned. 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Must be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through. 
  • Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently in a dynamic environment. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications; familiarity with XML, Java, and SQL applications and tools is preferred. 
  • Must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills. 

Physical Requirements: 

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard, and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
