Marketing Intern

Location: TeamMates Mentoring Program National Office (Lincoln or Gretna, Nebraska)

*This position is in-office and not remote.

 

Reports To: Marketing & Communications Manager, TeamMates Mentoring Program

TeamMates Mentoring is a school-based mentoring program dedicated to inspiring students through the power of meaningful relationships. Our mission is to positively impact the world by inspiring students to reach their full potential through mentoring.

 

Position Summary

TeamMates Mentoring is seeking a motivated, creative Marketing Intern to support marketing and communication efforts. This part-time role (up to 20 hours per week) is ideal for a student or recent graduate interested in gaining hands-on experience in non-profit marketing, digital content creation, and brand strategy.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating social media content (graphics, videos, copywriting) 
  • Draft and schedule social media posts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X)
  • Monitor and report on social media and digital engagement metrics
  • Support website updates and maintenance (WordPress experience helpful)
  • Help write and edit e-newsletters, blog posts, and press releases
  • Assist with event promotion materials including flyers, digital ads, and signage
  • Collaborate with staff on campaign planning and storytelling projects
  • Provide general marketing and administrative support as needed

 

Qualifications

  • Current student or recent graduate in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
  • Passion for non-profit work 

 

WorkingConditions and Physical Requirements: This part-time position offers a flexible schedule in fast-paced office environment up to 20 hours per week.  Physical requirements include the ability to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer. This position requires the ability to engage in repetitive movements and lift up to 20 pounds on occasion.
