Technology Intern – Power BI and Data Engineering (Summer 2026)

Technology Intern – Power BI and Data Engineering

Position Overview

The Power BI and Data Engineering Intern will support Rexford’s enterprise data and analytics initiatives by helping design, build, and enhance solutions that provide timely, trusted, and actionable business insights.

The intern will work closely with the Technology team and cross functional partners to explore, prototype, and document analytics and data solutions that improve visibility, consistency, and data driven decision-making.

Location: Hybrid – Los Angeles, CA

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Technology team and business stakeholders to support data connectivity between HR Systems and 3rd Party applications.
  • Support development of Rex360, a one stop shop for Rexford’s property and portfolio data
  • Collaborate with the Technology team to prototype Copilot enabled AI agents that interact with data models and dashboards to enhance insight delivery
  • Build, enhance, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards using SQL and DAX
  • Support analytics, reporting, and data automation initiatives across the organization
  • Assist with documenting data models, dashboards, and analytics solutions to support broader adoption and reuse

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Strong interest in data analytics, Power BI, and DAX, Power Apps
  • Familiarity with SQL (Azure SQL / TSQL preferred)
  • Familiarity with developing against Rest APIs
  • Understanding of AI concepts and tools, ideally Microsoft Copilot
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across technical and non‑technical team
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university at the time of application and throughout the duration of the internship

Dates: 

  • 10 week program beginning June 15, 2026 ending August 21, 2026 ; Weekly, Monday - Thursday 

Compensation: The expected hourly rate for this role is $20. *The actual hourly rate and total compensation offered depend on a variety of factors, which include, without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location where the job will be performed. The final hourly rate and total compensation will be described in any offer letter.
