Masdar Americas Summer Intern

Job Title: Masdar Americas Summer Intern 2026

Location: Washington, DC 20006

Timeframe: Monday June 15 – Friday August 7, 2026

Position Type: Onsite Monday through Thursday, Friday work from home remotely

Salary: $20 per hour (USD)

Age and School Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age, able to pass a background check, and a rising senior or graduate student.

Job Summary and Description:

Masdar Americas is seeking talented undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or Business to join our team and contribute to activities of the team specifically in the origination and asset and portfolio management areas.

Our summer internship program provides a comprehensive introduction to the renewable energy sector, supported by dedicated mentoring and valuable professional networking opportunities. Interns will participate in structured, project-based work designed to build strong analytical and reporting skills while offering practical exposure to real-world industry challenges and solutions.

The program includes a rotational structure, allowing interns to gain first-hand experience across multiple teams:

  • Origination – 3 weeks
  • Asset Management – 3 weeks
  • Finance – 2 weeks

This rotation will help interns gain a clear understanding of each teams strategy, processes and contribution to Masdar Americas activities providing valuable insight that will support their Capstone Project at the end of the summer. Masdar Americas will assign a dedicated mentor that will work continuously with the intern while there will be different direct supervisors during the rotation between teams.

 

Note:

Interns at Masdar Americas are not eligible for employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, vacation, sick leave (except as required by law), or holiday pay. For students relocating to the Washington, D.C. area, relocation assistance is not provided; all related costs and expenses will be the responsibility of the student.

 

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Recently graduated or currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics or Business, with an expected graduation date between May 2027 and December 2027
  • Demonstrated interest in renewable energy or energy markets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of valuation methodologies and proficiency in financial modeling
  • Knowledge of US electricity markets and utility energy systems is a plus
  • Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • A motivated, goal-oriented and problem-solving mindset
  • Team player
