Sales Intern

Sales Intern (Summer)

Reports To: Vice President of Sales
Employment Type: Temporary – Summer Internship 

Job Summary

The Sales Intern will support the sales team by assisting with day-to-day sales activities, client research, and project coordination related to commercial flooring projects. This internship is designed to provide hands-on exposure to the sales process—from initial client outreach and proposal support through project execution—while developing professional skills in communication, organization, and relationship management.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Account Executives with sales initiatives and ongoing client projects.
  • Conduct research on prospective customers, contractors, and end-users to identify potential sales opportunities.
  • Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and sales materials.
  • Help review project plans, specifications, and take-offs under the guidance of Sales or Estimating staff.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Estimating, Project Management, and Operations) to gather information for bids and proposals.
  • Attend customer meetings, job site visits, or internal sales meetings as appropriate to gain field experience.
  • Update and maintain customer records, project tracking logs, and basic reports.
  • Assist with follow-up communications related to bids, proposals, and project status updates.
  • Perform general administrative support tasks for the sales department as needed.

Learning Objectives

During the internship, the Sales Intern will gain exposure to:

Skills and Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with CRM or project management tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Interest in sales, construction, or the commercial flooring industry preferred.

Work Environment

  • Combination of office-based work and occasional job site or client visit exposure.
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented setting with mentorship from experienced sales professionals.
