Director For Systems Of Support

DIRECTOR FOR SYSTEMS OF SUPPORT

Location: Lincoln Center
Reports to: Assistant Superintendent / Executive Director of Schools
Calendar: Administrative Schedule; 12-month position 
Salary: Administrative Salary Matrix DOE

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director for Systems of Support is a high-level leadership role responsible for the strategic integration of the district's Graduate Profile and Strategic Priorities into daily school operations. This position serves as the primary architect and coach for the Multi-Tiered System of Support for Behavior (MTSSB), ensuring that elementary, middle, and high school principals have the tools, data, and coaching necessary to foster a "Culture of Care."

The Director oversees a diverse portfolio of student-facing programs ranging from mental health and therapeutic supports to student leadership and community mentorship, ensuring every student has an equitable pathway to success.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. MTSSB Leadership & Principal Coaching

  • Lead the district-wide implementation and refinement of MTSSB frameworks.
  • Provide direct instructional and operational coaching to middle and high school principals on MTSSB best practices.
  • Use PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) data to drive decision-making, identify systemic gaps, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Collaborate with Executive Directors to refine district policies concerning Student Handbooks and Discipline to ensure alignment with restorative practices and the Culture of Care.

2. Mental Health & Therapeutic Systems

  • Oversee the district's "Culture of Care" initiatives, including Hope Squad and Rachel's Challenge.
  • Manage partnerships with RiverStone Health to coordinate school-based health center (SBHC) therapists and mental health supports.
  • Supervise AWARE and integrated therapeutic supports within school buildings.
  • Coordinate Home Health Services and school-based clinics to ensure student wellness is a priority.

3. Student Advocacy & Vulnerable Populations

  • Direct support services for homeless students (McKinney-Vento) and support the Family Resource Center.
  • Facilitate implementation of community schools
  • Support the Family Friendly School Program
  • Supervise counselors, homeless and community liaisons, the Attendance Officer, Student Engagement Specialists, and Project Engage staff to improve district-wide graduation and attendance rates.
  • Ensure wrap-around services are accessible to at-risk populations to remove barriers to learning.

4. Culture, Climate & Student Excellence

  • Support and expand elementary-level engagement through PAX Good Behavior Game and House Systems.
  • Lead the Student Leadership Advisory Council (SLAC), ensuring student voices shape district policy.
  • Facilitate high-engagement programs including The Amazing Shake, TEDx Students, student councils, and Kindness Clubs.
  • Drive the expansion of BPS Connect, the district's premier community mentorship program.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Data Fluency: Ability to interpret complex PBIS and attendance data to create actionable improvement plans.
  • Systems Thinking: Experience building sustainable frameworks that connect disparate programs (e.g., Hope Squad to MTSSB).
  • Leadership Coaching: Proven ability to mentor and influence building-level administrators (Principals).
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to work with community partners (RiverStone Health, local non-profits) and internal stakeholders.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and related field experience.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in school administration or district-level leadership; experience with MTSS/PBIS frameworks required.

Licensure: Valid Montana Class 3 Administrative License (or ability to obtain).
