Civil Engineering Intern

InNova Consulting Inc. is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern to support our Aviation Planning team. This role offers hands-on experience working on airport planning and aviation infrastructure projects ranging from regional airports to major international hubs.

Our aviation planning practice focuses on delivering smart, sustainable airport solutions that keep passengers, aircraft, and operations moving safely and efficiently while supporting long-term airport growth.  As an intern, you will work alongside aviation planners and engineers to assist with technical analysis, planning studies, conceptual design, and airport operational assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with airport planning and aviation infrastructure studies, including airport master planning and airfield layout evaluations.
  • Support analysis related to airfield layout and capacity planning, aircraft operations, and airport growth projections.
  • Assist with terminal, apron, and aircraft parking layout planning.
  • Support planning efforts for ground access, curbside operations, and landside transportation systems.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports, planning documents, exhibits, and presentation materials.
  • Support airspace and obstruction analysis and review applicable FAA regulations and Advisory Circulars.
  • Assist with environmental compatibility and noise analysis related to airport development.
  • Help evaluate airside geometry and pavement layouts to support safe and efficient aircraft operations.
  • Assist with airport capital improvement planning and project phasing efforts.
  • Support studies related to airport safety risk management and runway incursion prevention.
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with planners, engineers, and airport stakeholders.
  • Support aviation planning services such as airport master planning, airfield layout planning, safety risk management, environmental compatibility studies, and airport capital improvement programming.
