Business Development Specialist Intern
We are seeking a motivated Business Development Specialist Intern to join our growing direct mail marketing company. This role is focused on generating new business by introducing them to our targeted direct mail programs, setting appointments, and helping move prospects through the sales process.
The ideal candidate is confident on the phone, organized, persistent, and comfortable speaking with agency owners and decision-makers. This is a junior sales role with strong growth potential for someone who is coachable, competitive, and eager to build a career in sales and marketing.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prospect and contact insurance and real estate agents by phone, email, and text
- Introduce prospects to the company’s direct mail programs and value proposition
- Qualify leads based on fit, interest level, and market availability
- Schedule sales calls and appointments for senior team members or ownership
- Follow up consistently with prospects through multiple touchpoints
- Maintain accurate notes and pipeline activity in CRM or tracking system
- Learn and communicate campaign pricing, targeting, and program details clearly
- Help manage outbound prospecting campaigns and organize lead lists
- Build familiarity with the insurance and real estate industry and common client pain points
- Support the General Manager with administrative and follow-up tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, especially over the phone
- Professional, confident, and friendly demeanor
- Comfortable with cold outreach and follow-up
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Coachable and open to feedback
- Basic computer skills and comfort using email, spreadsheets, and CRM tools
- Previous sales, customer service, appointment setting, or telemarketing experience is a plus but not required
