Heritage Pathways Program Internship-Early Identification & Development Program
Location: In Person
Position Type: Paid Internship
Schedule: Flexible hours based on class schedule; 12-16 hours per week
Hourly: $22-$25 per hr

Selected applicants will be invited to an exclusive social on June 11th featuring good food and conversation. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the Heritage Pathways Program, ask questions, and speak directly with partners and members of the Heritage team. It is a great chance to get a better feel for the program, the firm, and the career opportunities ahead.
About the Heritage Pathways Program
The Heritage Pathways Program is a multi-year opportunity designed for high-potential students who want to build their skills early and grow into full-time roles with the firm. Students move through different levels of the program based on their year in school, gaining increasing responsibility, professional development, and real-world exposure to tax, audit, and advisory work.
- Freshman – Pathways Discovery: Early exposure to the accounting profession through introductory administrative and supportive tasks.
- Sophomore – Pathways Associate: Development of foundational skills through supervised tax and bookkeeping work.
Students have the opportunity after the Associate level to continue their internship with Heritage throughout their Junior and Senior years. Top-performing students may receive a full-time offer before graduation and continue their careers with Heritage as a Staff Accountant.
What You’ll Do
Responsibilities may vary by program level, but may include:
- Review client books and records and perform basic analytics
- Prepare and assemble year-end payroll tax documents
- Prepare individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns
- Perform tax research using CCH, BNA, and other research tools
- Organize client documentation, workpapers, and supporting schedules
- Communicate with team members regarding the status of engagements
- Assist with bookkeeping, transaction coding, and tax data entry
- Support audit, tax, and advisory projects as needed
- Assist with firm marketing initiatives
Qualifications
- Accounting major or minor
- Expected graduation year of 2028 or 2029
- Freshman & Sophomore standing
- Minimum 3.5 GPA
- Working toward a B.A. or B.S. from an accredited university
- Strong communication and computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
- Motivated, professional, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Involvement in student organizations, leadership, or campus activities preferred
- Available to work 12-16 hours per week and weekend hours when needed
