Center Administrator

CENTER ADMINISTRATOR/PART TIME TEACHER: This full-time position is with our Utica Head Start/Early Head Start Center. The Center Administrator manages daily program operations and staff supervision.  In coordination with component managers, provides overall center program leadership.  Administers and implements policies and procedures at assigned site to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and State Licensing Regulations.  Maintain quality environments with attention to safety and health prevention measures.  Function as a liaison between central office leadership, staff and community collaborators. Assure active recruitment is occurring in the areas of the community that best reflects the program's target population. Responsible for personnel issues, including but not limited to recommending hiring and terminating of center staff, staff conferences, training, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, etc.  Conduct monthly staff meetings and individual meetings as needed. Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate center activities which may include evenings and weekends.

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field plus a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an early childhood education program with Supervisory experience. Experience in Step Up To Quality Rating System and Head Start preferred but not required. Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License, proof of auto insurance and a clean driving record for work related driving.  Must be computer literate and have experience in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and have the ability to learn new systems.  Ability to lift 45 pounds as needed. Strong organization and time management skills required. Must complete a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Must submit to a background check, including BCI and FBI Criminal Records, Federal and State Sex Offender registries and the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System and be eligible for employment as required by ODJFS. Salary range $25.53 - $28.73 per hour depending upon education and license.
