Launch Your Legal Career — For Real

The Law Offices of Scott M. Clark, P.C. is a fast-growing, multi-jurisdictional firm serving owners, managers, and associations across three major real estate sectors. Our work spans Litigation, Arbitration & Mediation; Rescissions, Cancellations & Modifications; Business Transactions & Negotiations; Evictions, Foreclosures & Discharges; and Advisory & Operational Consulting.

If you’re a recent or soon-to-be college graduate planning to apply to law school, this role is designed as a 12–24 month pre‑law residency: you’ll gain meaningful case exposure, work side-by-side with attorneys, build a portfolio of substantive work, and — for strong performers — earn compelling letters of recommendation that speak to real results.

Why This Role Is a Powerful Pre‑Law Runway

  • Substantive, not shadowing: Draft pleadings, analyze damages, and prepare filings that get used — not just observed.
  • Multi-jurisdiction & multi-sector exposure: See how law actually differs across AZ/NV/NM and across residential, commercial, and association contexts.
  • Attorney mentorship: Feedback on your work product, career coaching, and prep for law school expectations.
  • Professional artifacts: Concrete deliverables and outcomes you can cite in personal statements and interviews.
  • Track record: Many of our legal assistants have leveraged this role into successful law school admissions.
  • Merit-based recognition: Progressive bonus structure with uncapped potential and clear growth paths.

Our philosophy: Great work product deserves great advocacy. When you deliver, our attorneys invest in your journey — with experience, mentorship, and strong recommendations.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Draft & File: Prepare complaints, summons, and supporting pleadings for evictions, foreclosures, business disputes, and related proceedings; ensure filings are court-compliant and deadline-accurate.
  • Analyze Damages: Calculate and document plaintiff damages to be alleged in pleadings; support attorneys in attesting to accuracy.
  • Quality Control: Review client documents for completeness; request and track supplemental materials; maintain impeccable records.
  • Motions & Post‑Judgment: Under attorney supervision, draft writ requests, satisfactions of judgment, motions to vacate, and similar documents.
  • Client Communication: Communicate succinctly and professionally with clients via phone and email to gather facts and close loops.
  • Process Improvement: Spot bottlenecks and propose better checklists, templates, or workflows; help us ship improvements across teams.

What You’ll Learn (and Prove)

  • The rhythm of litigation and court deadlines in real time.
  • The difference between statutory requirements and local practice norms (AZ vs. NV vs. NM).
  • How to translate messy facts into clean, court‑ready documents.
  • How to collaborate with busy attorneys and keep a case moving.
  • The habits that make junior associates successful (organization, precision, follow‑through).

Qualifications

Must‑Haves

  • High school diploma or GED (required); Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred (or graduating by Summer 2026).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word & Excel; fast, accurate typing; strong formatting discipline.
  • Meticulous attention to detail; organized, reliable, and calm under deadlines.
  • Professional communication (phone and email); client‑first mindset.
  • On‑site presence in Phoenix; consistent, punctual attendance; professional appearance.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Great‑to‑Haves

  • Coursework/experience in pre‑law, public policy, business, economics, real estate, or related fields (all majors welcome).
  • Paralegal certificate, law‑related internships, or property management/HOA exposure.
  • Data comfort (ledgers, damages, reconciliations) and document management savvy.
  • Process improvement mindset — the ability to make a good checklist great.

We welcome high-achievers from diverse academic backgrounds who can demonstrate writing excellence, analytical rigor, and professional reliability.

Compensation, Benefits & Work Schedule

  • $19–$21/hour DOE + progressive uncapped bonus potential
  • Medical, dental, vision (eligible after 90 days)
  • Generous PTO: sick, personal, vacation + paid holidays
  • Paid training and a clear growth path
  • On‑site schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (overtime opportunities for motivated performers)
  • Business casual office environment
  • Remote work is not available for this role
