Laboratory Courier/Media Prep Technician (Asheboro, NC)

IEH Laboratories, a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for a Courier/Media Prep Technician position at its facility in Asheboro, NC.

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

- A high school diploma or GED (required); an associate degree in Biology or related field (preferred)
- Basic math skills
- Good attitude and willingness to work with others, as well as ability to work independently when performing courier duties
- Strong schedule reliability and flexibility if needed
- Good communication and organization skills
- Ability to occasionally lift 50lbs above waist level
- Ability to regularly lift 30lbs above waist level
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory

- A valid US driver's license and clean driving record (including, at minimum, no accidents in the last 5 years) that meets/continues to meet motor vehicle risk standards, as verified through ongoing MVR monitoring


Courier/Media Prep duties include: safely transporting samples from customers to the lab on a fixed schedule (trips can take up to 3 hours round trip), cleaning and maintaining coolers for sample transport, media preparation, sample prep, sample sorting and log-in, sample testing steps (under supervision), washing glassware, general laboratory cleaning, data entry, inventory control, and other duties as assigned.

This is a full-time position and is eligible for standard benefits after a brief waiting period. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 2:00pm-10:00pm with occasional weekend coverage. The laboratory operates 24/7, so candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends, and potentially holidays.
