The Role.   Early Childhood and Lower School Administrative Liaisons are educational leaders who help refine a truly differentiated educational opportunity as MVS becomes a nationally-recognized leader in experience-based learning. The Lower School Administrative Liaison at The Miami Valley School performs diverse administrative functions that promote the successful day-to-day operation of the Lower School division and the school. They coordinate, organize, oversee and perform everyday clerical and administrative duties associated with school operations. They also provide secretarial assistance to the directors and serve as a liaison between students, staff and caregivers.

Expectations:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, coordinate and perform day to day administrative functions
  • Prepare and maintain student records and ensure that they are updated on a regular basis
  • Provide secretarial assistance to the directors by relieving him or her of administrative tasks such as composing, typing and editing letters and bulletins
  • Update and review school newsletters, memos and agendas and notification systems
  • Update Canvas/Blackbaud to keep both students and families informed of events and information
  • Utilize Blackbaud to manage student information
  • Attend and create Division meetings minutes properly and forward to designated staff
  • Update and edit the weekly newsletter for Early Childhood School and  Lower School faculty and staff, also known as "The Week Ahead"
  • Manage credit card,  purchase orders and authorizations
  • Relay information to staff and students using a variety of mediums
  • Answer telephone calls and transfer calls to the appropriate recipients direct visitors and caregivers to correct school personnel
  • Maintain students' attendance
  • Facilitate with purchasing food items for a variety of school functions
  • Provide support in new teachers and office staff orientation
  • Work with the Division Directors to coordinate substitute teachers and record hours worked on HR form for faculty absences
  • Support January Immersion Term
  • Knowledgeable in all Google Drive platforms
  • Maintain the Early Childhood School and  Lower School Faculty and Staff Canvas/Blackbaud Page
  • Act as the liaison for troubleshooting technology issues quickly with Faculty
  • Support current Ohio Department of Education requirements for Preschool Licensing.
  • Support ODE documentation for the Early Childhood School and teacher ODE documentation and training.


 

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Demonstrate computer literacy and proficiency (e.g., Google suite of applications, student information systems and online grade book programs, such as Blackbaud, and Canvas LMS)
  • Desire to work with teenage students in an experiential and “hands-on” setting
