Consignment Shop Manager

The Shop Manager will assist the owners in upholding the shop’s mission as well as growing and evolving with us. They help the owners by running a thoughtful, positive and productive operation. Other responsibilities include; managing and directing staff on tasks, loss prevention, customer service, ensuring cleanliness of physical space, selecting and processing items for consignment, account and inventory management, fixing, caring for and prepping items on consignment, merchandising, building and maintaining relationships with customers, consignors, and community, and ensuring both the staff and customer experience is positive. Effectively manages store operations, ensuring consistency and organization. Job Duties

This is a heavy customer-facing role - community members, customers and consignors all walk through our doors and are all assisted with a smile, kindness, and a helpful attitude.

Scheduling/changing/tracking consignment appointments

Reviewing items for consignment by assessing condition for holes, stains, odors, missing buttons, excessive wear.

Processing and preparing items for consignment (inventorying in consignment software, tagging items, lint rolling, fabric shaving, steaming items).

Inventory management

Calm under pressure, stay focused in a fast-paced environment

Maintaining knowledge of brands, current styles, and different fabric qualities

Knowledgeable about causes and organizations we fundraise for

Cashiering: handling cash, use POS system, bagging up purchased items

Maintains merchandise, organization and overall cleanliness of the shop

Constantly monitor the store for loss prevention

Maintain store safety for staff and customers

Friendly and professional communication with customers, consignors, staff and community by email, Instagram DM, phone, and text.

Acts with integrity and respect

Adapts to changes required by the business

Strong ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Respectfully interacts with a diverse group of people from different backgrounds

Use sound and thoughtful judgment when making decisions. 

Work with owners and team members in a harmonious way

Maintains autonomy and stays productive

Occasionally assist with special event coordination

Direct staff on daily tasks

 

Physical Demands:

Requires standing and walking approximately 5-8 hours per day. Required to ascend/descend stairs regularly, may be required to climb ladder for occasional cleaning tasks. Required to lift items weighing up to 25 lbs. Must be able to effectively communicate with customers. Must be able to see and differentiate colors and defects in consigned items.

PAY

Starting hourly wages are $26- $28 per hour to start, depending on experience.
