JOB SUMMARY

Administrative Specialist

Performs complex and moderate to difficult administrative work supporting the Planning and Zoning Division, including coordinating agendas, preparing meeting materials, and processing zoning and development applications. Work involves responsible recordkeeping, public communication, and document preparation. Requires strong organizational skills, discretion, and independent judgment in managing sensitive planning and zoning information.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Agenda Management: Track statutory meeting deadlines and prepare agendas and public notices.
  • Public Communication: Answer phone and in-person inquiries and route as appropriate.
  • Meeting Coordination: Prepare and distribute packets, record minutes, and manage post-meeting documentation.
  • Document Preparation: Assist with processing deeds, plats, and permit documentation, as needed.
  • Backup Support: Provide support for deed exemptions, boundary adjustments, and zoning filings.

The individual in this role is expected to contribute to the team's efforts by completing other related tasks, as may be assigned.

 

Requirements

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE The following are the minimum education and experience required for the position. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Education

  • HS - GED

Experience

  • 3 years previous relevant work experience is required.

  • Some situations may require early morning or late evening hours.
