Junior Equity Analyst and Operations Associate
The Junior Equity Analyst and Operations Associate will work in multiple roles within our small company.
They will research companies, their products, their industries, their suppliers, their markets, and their competitive environments to develop forecasts of company profitability and appraisals of company value. They will present the analysis to the rest of the research team and the Portfolio Manager, who will make investment/divestment decisions based in part on the findings.
They will be responsible for monitoring markets for stocks and bonds, placing orders to trade stocks and bonds, managing client accounts, generating reports, responding to client inquiries, and collecting company information.
A strong applicant will:
- have completed at least an introductory accounting class (additional coursework in investment, business strategy, corporate finance, and economics is a plus).
- be interested in business, finance, and investing.
- have some familiarity with investing in stocks, perhaps even some personal experience investing the applicant's own money.
- be very comfortable with numbers, good at mental math, and comfortable working with spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- have strong communication skills.
- be attentive to detail.
- be able to interact with clients politely, pleasantly, professionally, and patiently.
