Client Services/Business Development Intern
Ironbeam, Inc., a Chicago-based Futures Commission Merchant and clearing member of CME Group, is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Summer Interns to join our Client Services & Business Development team.
This internship provides hands-on exposure to the client-facing operations of a futures brokerage, including client services support, lead generation, risk monitoring exposure, and digital engagement. Interns will work closely with experienced professionals and gain practical insight into the financial services and futures trading industry.
Internship Details
- Duration: 9 weeks (Summer)
- Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Location: Chicago, IL (On-site)
- Department: Client Services & Business Development
What You’ll Learn
During the internship, you will gain exposure to:
- Client services operations within a futures brokerage
- Basic risk monitoring concepts in the futures industry
- Lead generation and sales support activities
- Professional communication with prospective and existing clients
- Social media and digital engagement monitoring
- Business development and outreach strategies in financial services
Responsibilities
- Assist the Client Services team with daily operational support
- Help answer and screen inbound phone calls from clients and prospective customers
- Create and maintain lead lists for the sales team
- Research contact information and professional email addresses for prospective clients
- Conduct supervised outbound calls to potential prospects and schedule phone appointments for the sales team
- Monitor company social media channels and website chat inquiries
- Assist with administrative client communications, including coordinating the distribution of platform credentials under supervision
- Support outreach and marketing initiatives
- Help organize historical account documentation in accordance with company records retention policies
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (rising senior)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable speaking on the phone and interacting with prospective clients
- Strong research, organization, and attention to detail
- Interest in financial markets or financial services
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
