Location: Waterloo, IA 50704
Assignment Length: 24 months + (Possible Extension)
Position Type: Contract / Contingent
Pay Rate: Hourly on w2 All Inclusive on SGS Payroll
Shift: 1st Shift (8:00 am – 4:30 pm); No anticipated overtime
Work Arrangement: Onsite only; onsite interviews preferred
Position Summary
Join Waterloo Works as a Supply Management Specialist and drive impactful continuous improvement projects within a dynamic production environment. You’ll be responsible for optimizing sourcing options, aligning and negotiating with stakeholders, and leading supplier risk mitigation and resourcing projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your expertise across multiple commodities in an established manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute continuous improvement projects by determining and implementing optimal sourcing solutions for quality, cost, and delivery within the assigned supply base.
- Negotiate and build relationships across an extensive internal and external network to ensure project alignment.
- Develop expertise and exposure across multiple commodities.
- Lead supplier resourcing and risk mitigation projects.
- Maintain team communication and project management tools.
Requirements
- Ability to investigate, own, and resolve complex and ambiguous problem statements, driving them to resolution.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Strong relationship-building skills, both internally (with other functions) and externally (with supply base).
- Self-starter capable of gathering data/input, making decisions, and taking action.
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Open to recent graduates.
Preferred Skills
- SAP experience
- Experience creating dashboards or visual reporting tools (Power BI, Data Analytics, SharePoint, etc.)
Additional Details
- Must be comfortable driving to other Waterloo facilities (within 20-mile radius) about six times per year using a personal vehicle.
- Occasional travel to suppliers, with rental car provided.
- Business casual dress required.
