QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership; Certification as Career and Technical Education Principal in the State of NH
- Three years of successful Career and Technical or relevant teaching experience preferred; previous supervisory experience
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable

LOCATION: Kennett High School
POSITION OVERVIEW: To lead collaboratively with district and school administrative teams in strengthening academic programming, workforce development partnerships, and career-connected learning opportunities. The Dean ensures that all students have access to high-quality CTE programs, coherent academic pathways, and meaningful post-secondary
options by coordinating with the SAU9 central office, building leaders, and regional industry partners. Through this collaborative and strategic leadership, the Dean advances alignment with state requirements, emerging workforce needs, and district priorities, ensuring continuity of programming, high-quality instruction, and equitable access to learning experiences that prepare every student for success in college, career, and life.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees and leads the development and alignment of academic course offerings to ensure a coherent, rigorous Program of Studies. Provides supervision and evaluation of staff and programming across both CTE and academic areas to ensure high-quality instruction, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Seeks grant funding sources for Kennett High School and the Career Tech Center, including the management of the Perkins Grant, ensuring full compliance and strategic use of funds, and actively seeks additional grant opportunities to support student programming in addition to CTE initiatives.
- Coordinates SAT and AP programming and collaborates with staff to support student attendance, academic progress, and school engagement.
- In collaboration with building administration, leads recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and assignment of instructional staff to ensure high-quality teaching and student support.
- Ensures clear, consistent communication with students, families, staff, community partners, and sending districts.
- Maintains accurate records related to students, programming, and staff to ensure compliance with state and federal statues, district, and administrative requirements.
- Exercises sound decision-making within assigned authority, demonstrating effective educational leadership and assisting with student conduct and discipline as needed to support a safe, orderly school environment.
- Leads the development of the Program of Studies, academic and CTE course offerings, and scheduling alignment while coordinating curriculum and instructional initiatives with school and district priorities, ensuring their appropriateness and integration across all educational programs.
- Attends state and federal Career and Technical Education conferences and meetings and advises administration on state and federal career and technical education legislation and requirements.
- Collaborates with Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO) Coordinator, School Counseling, and Administration to support individualized student pathways.
- Promotes collaborative planning and shared decision-making among students, staff, advisory committees, and community partners in an inclusive environment that supports positive relationships among all stakeholders.
- Monitors student enrollment, student interests, and emerging workforce trends to make informed, fiscally responsible decisions about adding or reducing Career and Technical and academic programming, and prepares and presents the CTE budget to ensure strategic, sustainable financial planning in collaboration with building administration.
- Builds and strengthens partnerships with businesses and community organizations to enhance student opportunities and programmatic impact.
- Actively participates in program advisory committees and the Regional Advisory Committee for the MWV Career & Technical Center.
- Serves on school and district leadership teams, contributing to school and district-wide planning in partnership with building administration.
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 220 day contract position. Salary and work year in accordance with the Conway School District Administrators/Supervisors Personnel Policies.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Kennett High School Principal in accordance with provisions of the Conway School Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
