Deposit Raising Intern
Self-Help Federal Credit Union‘s internship program offers students a unique opportunity to learn more about the work that we do and to gain valuable professional experience. Our 10-week paid internships are open to students (undergraduate, graduate or recent graduate) interested in community development, nonprofit management and economic justice. Internships begin in May 2026 and end in July with final project presentations to our executive leadership team.
We are seeking a Deposit Raising Outreach Intern to join our team in Wilmington, CA!
Are you interested in banking with a focus on deposit-raising? With your help, Self-Help will be able to do more lending within the organization for the underserved community.
The team provides responsible financial services, financial education, lending for consumers and small businesses, and commercial real estate financing in key impact areas, such as affordable housing, clean energy, nonprofits, and more. They also advocate in support of under-resourced communities and against predatory lending practices.
WHAT You’ll Do:
Assist with community deposit-raising efforts by collaborating closely with non-profits.
Develop and deliver programs on financial management, understanding credit reports, and addressing the impact of predatory lending on underserved communities.
Learn about Self-Help's mission and contribute to various team activities as needed.
WHAT You’ll Need:
Undergraduate or graduate students, recent graduates welcome to apply
Demonstrate a sincere interest in non-profit work, education, advocacy, or social work
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills

This is a paid internship at $24.00 per hour
