Community Canvasser
Community Canvassers and Team Leaders - United Firefighters of LA City
Hiring Immediately - $24-26/hr + bonuses
Full-time & Part-time
Los Angeles is growing, but our city budgets haven’t kept up with the needs of our Los Angeles Fire Department Firefighters. This campaign will work to pass a ballot initiative to expand the LAFD, adding desperately-needed firefighters and modernizing facilities to meet the city’s demand and keep our communities safe. Working on this campaign, you’ll help win a practical, local solution that protects families, improves emergency response times, and invests in community safety. This is a chance for Angelenos to step up for each other and help shape a safer city.
Petitioners will canvass in busy public areas and engage voters in one-on-one conversations to gather signatures for this important ballot initiative. Canvassing is all about connecting with people face-to-face, having meaningful conversations, and inspiring them to take action on important issues. We spend our days outdoors, in public spaces, to engage with community members.
This role is a great opportunity to gain experience in the following areas: Leadership, Communication & Advocacy, Community Outreach & Engagement, Campaign Work, Public Policy, and Social Enterprise.
Get paid well! Petition Circulator positions start at $24/hour. Leadership positions start at $26/hour. We offer overtime pay, daily performance bonuses ranging from $20-$150/day, paid training, sick pay, and bonuses for friend referrals.
