SLAQ Serving Leader Internship
SLAQ Serving Leader Internship
This 12 month immersive internship offers the opportunity to serve, lead, and mentor youth in partnership with VMMissions, SLAQ, and (potentially) a local church. All of this is guided through weekly mentoring from the SLAQ director, as well as regular coaching from VMMissions staff.
Serve: Provide practical support of the SLAQ programs’ day to day operations. Everything from working on our newsletter, to organizing data, to picking up pizza or helping clean up from an event.
Mentor: Come alongside a high school youth of the same gender who is part of the SLAQ Discipleship Cohort. Go over Crucial Conversations content with them, connect over coffee for times of prayer, send them a card on their birthday…
Lead: Develop trip itineraries, receive training in Wilderness First Aid, lead aspects of our service project, and guide youth through wisdom seeking conversations. Design, plan, implement, and review your own unique capstone project.
