Associate Attorney

Williams DeLoatche, P.C., a growing personal injury law firm with offices in Virginia Beach, Roanoke, and the Eastern Shore, is seeking two (2) Associate Attorneys to join our team—one in our Virginia Beach office and one in our Roanoke office.

This role is ideal for an attorney with 0–4 years of experience who is interested in developing a career in personal injury law and gaining hands-on pre-litigation and litigation experience within a collaborative and expanding firm. Associates will work closely with managing partners and senior attorneys and have the opportunity to play an active role in case strategy, client advocacy, and litigation preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a personal injury caseload starting with pre-litigation and growing toward litigation
  • Represent clients in negotiations and mediations to achieve favorable outcomes
  • Attend hearings, mediations, depositions, and other litigation proceedings as needed
  • Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, and courts
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and other legal correspondence
  • Assist in preparing cases for trial, hearings, mediations, and depositions
  • Conduct legal research using platforms such as LexisNexis to support case strategy and development
  • Engage in client consultations to gather information and provide legal guidance
  • Collaborate with managing partners, senior attorneys, and support staff to streamline case management
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active Virginia State Bar license in good standing
  • 0–4 years of legal experience (personal injury or civil litigation preferred)
  • Strong legal writing and research skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities
  • Familiarity with legal research tools (LexisNexis, Westlaw) and case management systems (Neos, Needles, Clio, or similar) preferred
  • Ability to manage deadlines and multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
