Law Clerk
The City of Corona is excited to offer a dynamic, hands‑on Law Clerk opportunity within our Legal and Risk Management Department. This is an exceptional role for Juris Doctorate students who want real litigation experience, direct mentorship from practicing municipal attorneys, and meaningful work that impacts a thriving Southern California community.
As a Law Clerk, you’ll work remotely but closely with the City’s attorneys on a wide range of litigation and advisory matters. You’ll gain exposure to the inner workings of local government law, sharpen your research and writing skills, and contribute to cases that shape public policy and city operations.
This is a year‑round, part‑time position with flexible scheduling designed to support your academic commitments. The ideal candidate will be a 2L or 3L during the 2026–27 school year, available to begin in June 2026, working approximately 25 hours/week in the summer and 12–15 hours/week during the academic year.
As a Law Clerk, you will have the opportunity to:
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, briefs, and opinions
- Assist attorneys with all phases of City litigation
- Support the City Council, City departments, and various boards and commissions
- Interpret and apply statutes, case law, and administrative regulations
- Prepare materials for hearings and trials
- Attend virtual meetings via Zoom or Teams
- Present written and oral reports
- Perform administrative and research tasks that support the Legal & Risk Management team
