Accounting Intern – True Believers Community Connections

 

True Believers is more than just a non-profit; we’re dedicated to closing opportunity gaps. We’re looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Accounting Intern to help us keep our financial engine running smoothly so we can stay focused on empowering our youth and families.

 

What You’ll Do:

You won’t just be crunching numbers; you’ll be learning the "how" behind non-profit sustainability. You will:

 

  • Support Reconciliations: Assist with monthly billing and invoicing, specifically tracking cost-sharing splits between our different grant funders.
  • Compliance Tracking: Help maintain fiscal records to ensure every dollar is accounted for and audit-ready.
  • Grant Reporting: Assist in gathering documentation for monthly and quarterly financial reports via QuickBooks and Excel.
  • Digital Organization: Help manage bookkeeping by organizing receipts, invoices, and bank statements.
  • Special Projects: Support Dr. Carol with projected budgets and financial data related to grant writing.

 

What You Bring:

  • A current student (or recent grad) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail—you’re the person who catches the missing decimal point.
  • A heart for the community and an interest in how social services are funded.
  • Comfort with digital tools (Excel/Google Sheets is a must; experience with QuickBooks or ADP is a plus).
