Location: Lake Bluff, IL

Job Type: Internship

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

We are not a typical corporate environment; we are a small, fast-paced team focused on execution and real-world results. We also operate BreakingNewsABA.com, a news platform covering the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy industry.

 

Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and curious Journalist Intern to join our team and help produce content for BreakingNewsABA.com. This is a unique opportunity for a student or recent graduate who is passionate about journalism, content creation, and the intersection of AI and media. You will work directly with the team and gain hands-on experience writing, researching, and publishing articles in a fast-paced startup environment.

This is not a remote position. The successful candidate must be able to work 100% in-person at our office in Lake Bluff, IL.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Research, write, and edit articles for BreakingNewsABA.com.
  • Identify trending topics and newsworthy stories within the ABA therapy industry.
  • Use AI tools to assist with content research, drafting, and optimization.
  • Help develop and maintain an editorial calendar.
  • Assist with social media content and distribution strategies.
  • Conduct interviews with industry professionals and thought leaders.
  • Support the team with general content operations and process improvement.

 

Who You Are:

  • You have a strong interest in journalism, content creation, and storytelling.
  • You are tech-savvy and comfortable using AI tools (experience with Claude, ChatGPT, or similar is a plus).
  • You can write clearly, concisely, and on deadline.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured environment and are eager to learn.
  • You are not looking for a traditional corporate internship.
  • You are reliable, have strong communication skills, and can take ownership of your work.
  • A background or interest in healthcare, ABA, or education is a plus but not required.

 

Important Location Information: This is a 100% in-person internship at our office in Lake Bluff, IL. We are looking for local candidates who can easily commute. Based on our experience, a commute of one hour or more is not a good fit for the demands of this role. Please consider your commute time before applying.
