Hirschen Singer & Epstein LLP is a boutique New York City law firm specializing in affordable housing finance and community development. The firm represents a diverse range of non-profit and for-profit developers in sophisticated real estate transactions throughout New York State, including acquisitions and dispositions, construction and permanent financing, Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) investments, joint ventures, and regulatory matters related to affordable housing and mixed-income projects. We are currently seeking a real estate attorney with a minimum of four years of experience to join our practice.

The Role

The attorney in this position will work on complex, multi-party real estate transactions from initial structuring through closing. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, joint venture and operating agreements, and ancillary transaction documents, as well as managing due diligence processes and coordinating across clients, lenders, government agencies, and other members of the project team. The position offers meaningful client contact and significant transactional responsibility.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a minimum of four years of experience in commercial real estate transactions, with substantial experience on the developer side of complex deals. Strong drafting skills, sound legal judgment, and the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously are essential. Experience with large-scale development projects is preferred. Prior affordable housing experience is not required; attorneys with a strong commercial real estate background who wish to develop a specialization in affordable housing and community development are encouraged to apply.
