Summer Business Data Analyst

About the Role

Laxcen Technology is seeking a Summer Business Data Analyst to support research and strategic analysis of the U.S. RFID and IoT technology market.

This internship focuses on industry analysis, market mapping, and data-driven research across supply chain, retail, logistics, manufacturing, and emerging technology applications.

The role combines elements of technology market research, business intelligence, and sourcing workflows similar to those used in consulting, venture capital, and technology strategy teams.

Interns will work closely with company leadership to analyze market opportunities and identify potential customers and partners within the RFID ecosystem.

 

Location: Remote or Hybrid (Irvine, CA preferred)
Duration: Summer 2026 (8–12 weeks)
Schedule: Flexible, approximately 30 hours per week

Candidates should be currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States or eligible for CPT / OPT authorization.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Industry & Market Research: 

  • Conduct structured research on the U.S. RFID ecosystem, including manufacturers, distributors, integrators, and enterprise users
  • Map product sales channels and identify how RFID products reach end customers across industries
  • Research major RFID application areas such as retail inventory management, logistics tracking, manufacturing automation, healthcare asset tracking, and industrial IoT deployments

Market Mapping & Opportunity Identification

  • Build a structured database of potential customers, partners, and solution providers
  • Segment companies by industry, size, and technology use case
  • Identify organizations that may benefit from RFID adoption and analyze potential deployment scenarios
  • Develop insights and recommendations for potential outreach opportunities

Emerging Technology Exploration

  • Research potential integrations between RFID systems and emerging digital infrastructure
  • Explore workflows connecting physical asset identification with digital asset records
  • Assist in documenting potential applications involving blockchain-based asset tracking

Analysis & Reporting

  • Organize research findings into clear reports, presentations, and structured datasets
  • Contribute to a final market analysis summarizing industry structure, major players, and potential business opportunities
