Black Culture Candles is a luxury brand celebrating Black joy through the art of scent and universal experiences. Our mission is to take you on a scent journey through our collective memories and shine a light on the joyful experiences that connect us all. We’re committed to showcasing the rich and vibrant history of Black culture, emphasizing joy, community, and connection.

Hours: 100 hours during the internship.
Date: Spring 2026 (exact dates TBD to accommodate student schedules)
Location: Hybrid/Remote


Position Overview

We’re seeking a thoughtful, story‑driven graphic designer or artist to help create original etched glass designs for our candle jars. These designs should visually interpret the story, emotion, and memory behind each scent. This role is ideal for someone interested in translating narrative and feeling into minimal, engraving‑ready artwork.

Position Summary

Conceptualize original etched glass designs inspired by the story and emotional tone of each candle scent

Translate written scent stories into clean, minimalist visual artwork suitable for laser etching

Design with production constraints in mind, including line weight, contrast, and engraving feasibility

Collaborate closely with the founder to align artistic vision with brand storytelling and technical requirements

Create a collection of 12 approved designs that may be used across select candle jars

Contribute to a brand centered on artistry, craftsmanship, and emotional connection

Help bring scent, memory, and culture to life through glass
