Summer Camp Counselor / Park & Recreation Aide | The Village of Walton Hills

Reports to the Summer Camp Leader

Works at the Parker Summer Camp Program held at T. G. Young Park

Assists the Camp Leader in supervising and interacting with children

Maintains a safe and nurturing environment for all children

Helps foster a positive working and playing environment while teaching life skills (respect, honesty, integrity, compassion)

Maintains open communication with the Leader, staff, parents, and children

Helps address children’s specific concerns or needs while maintaining confidentiality

Communicates concerns to the Leader as they arise

Assists in ensuring the safety and well-being of all campers

Keeps camp supplies organized and notifies the Leader of low inventory

Assists with preparation, serving, and storage of daily snacks and lunches

Helps oversee campers during transportation, field trips, golf lessons, The Lake Club, and the Community Center

Listens to and professionally handles feedback, complaints, incidents, or accidents from parents, grandparents, and children, and communicates these to the Leader

Assists with additional recreation duties such as camp prep, park cleaning, activities, and theme days
