Social Media Video Intern

The Social Media Video Intern will support the communications and marketing team in creating engaging short-form video content for social media platforms, including TikTok and Instagram Reels. This internship offers hands-on experience in video production, content planning, and digital media while working alongside experienced professionals. Interns will gain exposure to the full video production process, from concept development to publishing, and develop practical skills in social media content creation.

Responsibilities

Video Production Support

  • Assist in the planning and production of short-form social media videos.
  • Support concept development, scripting, storyboarding, filming, editing, and post-production.
  • Help capture footage and set up lighting, audio, and camera equipment.
  • Assist with editing videos and preparing final content for social media platforms.
  • Learn and apply best practices for accessibility, branding, and production quality.

Content Planning & Collaboration

  • Support the team in generating creative video content ideas for social media campaigns.
  • Assist with maintaining the video and digital content editorial calendar.
  • Collaborate with team members across departments to gather information for videos.

Platform & Distribution Support

  • Assist with publishing video content to social media channels.
  • Support basic tracking of video performance metrics such as views, engagement, and audience feedback.
  • Participate in discussions on how social media content can be improved.

Professional Development

  • Gain mentorship and guidance from communications and marketing professionals.
  • Learn strategies for social media video, storytelling, and digital communications.
  • Build skills in video production, editing, and digital content creation.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Current student or recent graduate pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Digital Media, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Interest in video production, social media, and storytelling.
  • Familiarity with video editing software (CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, or similar) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and learn in a team environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and short-form video formats.
  • Basic knowledge of video production equipment.
  • Interest in digital marketing, branding, or communications strategy.
