Ignite Internship (College) - Summer 2026
Spark your future and watch as your passions become fueled with Ignite. Regardless of what point you are at in approaching your career path, Ignite offers an opportunity for everyone. In only ten weeks, Ignitees are given the space to explore the professional world, their local government, and their own potential as they face challenges that excite and experiences that inspire. If you are ready to bring your academic accomplishments and unique perspective to an internship environment cultivated to grow them, you are ready to become an Ignitee.
Members of each Ignite cohort are paired to the department that best matches their ambitions. Though the departments are diverse and interns’ daily activities vary by their placements, every future Ignitee can expect to sharpen the skills they begin with, foster new ones that they will graduate with, participate in real-world professional projects, and immeasurably more. Burn your name into Cumberland County’s history with the same spark that will blaze your career path’s beginning: Ignite.

Every other Friday, Ignitees across all departments come together and visit a new part of the county where they get a deeper look at the ways that various departments operate. Additionally, Ignite Days include skill development sessions encompassing time management, workplace communication, networking, and beyond. This chance to learn from peers, mentors, and community leaders alike is distinct to the Ignite experience. Attendance is required, and a specific schedule will be provided at a later time.

This compensation reflects our recognition of interns’ dedication and contributions to their assigned projects and tasks. Interns will work for a total of 20 hours per week for a period of up to 10 weeks, allowing them the potential to earn a total stipend between $2000 - $3000 for the duration of the program.
