About Meraki:
Meraki Learning Center is seeking a passionate and dedicated Instruction Specialist to join our team! Meraki provides a comprehensive early learning program designed to give each child the best start. We provide a high-quality, structured learning experience through our unique hybrid model that seamlessly blends the nurturing, creative environment of play-based learning with the evidence-based, systematic instruction of applied behavior analysis. We serve preschool students ages 2-6.
The Role:
As an Instruction Specialist, you will play a key supportive role in the classroom by assisting Lead Instructors in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for preschool students. You will work directly with students, helping support growth across all developmental domains. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about child development, education, or behavioral support and are looking to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative setting
Responsibilities:
- Support and assist Lead Instructors in maintaining an organized and positive learning environment
- Actively supervise children to ensure well-being and support developmental growth
- Assist students with eating/drinking
- Support students transitioning to nap/rest time
- Help students using the toilet or change diapers
- Assist Lead Instructors with daily activities
- Support implementation of effective instructional strategies and positive behavior supports
- Collect data on student progress
- Assist with opening or closing duties such as cleaning and sanitizing, set up and organization, and waste management
- Participate in professional development and staff training
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6 units in child development/related field OR enrollment in 2 units per semester/quarter
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment and communicate effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in collecting data
- Experience using positive behavior supports or knowledge of ABA principles
- Experience in a classroom or comparable setting
- Experience working with children ages 2-6
- CPR/First aide certification
