Position Overview
Police Officers with MTPD are responsible for protecting life and property, enforcing state and local laws, conducting investigations, responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, and engaging positively with members of the community.

Key Responsibilities
Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity
Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service
Conduct criminal investigations and prepare detailed reports
Make lawful arrests and testify in court
Engage with community members through outreach and problem-solving initiatives
Work collaboratively with other officers, agencies, and community partners
Minimum Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age at time of appointment
U.S. Citizen
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license
Ability to pass physical fitness testing, background investigation, medical and psychological evaluations
