Quality Control Technician – Viral 

Vaxxinova US is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our team in Willmar, MN.  

About the role: The Quality Control Technician is responsible for completing product testing of viral vaccine products.

Starting pay is $24 per hour, depending upon experience and qualifications. 

Main responsibilities: 

  • Maintain primary and immortal cell cultures.
  • Laboratory skills such as ELISA, cell staining, direct and indirect fluorescent antibody staining, and viral titration procedures. 
  • Equipment includes inverted and fluorescent microscope, spectrophotometer, biosafety cabinet, single and multichannel pipettes and centrifuges.
  • Maintaining a clean laboratory environment through regularly scheduled cleaning and disinfecting activities.
  • Egg inoculation and fluid harvest testing.
  • Working with management to plan work schedules and inventory levels are sufficient to meet production demands. 
  • Aids in process improvement and implementation of new tests and test development.
  • Initiate, review, and provide revisions of testing procedures and specifications; ensure that policies, SOPs, and safety procedures are instituted and followed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Capabilities

  • Familiar with cell culture, aseptic technique and general virology. 
  • Possesses an understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Basic math, including serial dilutions and log calculations Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills and attention to detail 
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Communications skills to effectively work within teams and across departments.
  • Strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills 
  • Read, write, comprehend, and follow verbal & written instructions in English
  • A.S. degree in a related field required, B.S. degree in a related field preferred
  • One (1) year cell culture work experience with MS or BS degree; three (3) years cell culture work experience with AS degree required.
