Business Intelligence Intern

Position Overview
The Business Intelligence & Financial Analytics Intern will support the Finance and Business Intelligence team and assist in the analysis of data, development of dashboards, and preparation of financial insights that inform strategic decision-making across North American Properties (NAP) and its portfolio companies. This internship is designed for a highly analytical and detail-oriented student interested in the intersection of finance, data, and business intelligence. The role provides hands-on exposure to real estate, portfolio performance analytics, and enterprise reporting tools while contributing to meaningful, high-impact projects. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, organized, and eager to learn how data systems support operational and investment decisions.

Contributions the Financial and Data Analyst will make to our team
• Assist in analyzing data sets to identify trends, key performance indicators (KPIs), and insights across finance, operations, and portfolio companies.
• Support the development and maintenance of dashboards and reports using tools such as Domo, Power BI, and Excel.
• Help compile and organize financial and operational data for reporting, forecasting, and internal presentations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and basic financial modeling, including exposure to asset performance metrics.
• Support monthly portfolio reporting through coordination with accounting, operations, leasing, and payroll data sources.
• Conduct research and data validation to ensure accuracy and consistency across business intelligence outputs.
• Assist in documenting workflows, data definitions, and reporting processes to strengthen data governance.
• Support automation initiatives and report distribution where applicable.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand reporting needs and improve data visibility.
• Promote a data-driven mindset by helping organize and structure information for leadership decision-making.
• Handle confidential financial and business information with discretion.
• Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements – What you’ll need to be successful
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
• Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Power BI, Domo, or similar tools is a plus
• Basic understanding of financial and analytical concepts
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize information clearly
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a professional, fast-paced environment
• High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information
