Position Overview

  • St. Christopher Catholic School, a parish school in the Diocese of Columbus, seeks a dedicated and faith filled 3rd Grade Teacher to support the academic, spiritual, and social development of student. The successful candidate will create a positive learning environment that promotes academic growth, faith formation, and a love of learning consistent with the mission of Catholic education. 

Instruction & Curriculum 

  • Teach 3rd grade core subjects in alignment with Diocese of Columbus curriculum standards and Ohio Learning Standards
  • Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and academic success.
  • Integrate Catholic values and faith-based perspectives across the curriculum.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction.

Faith Formation & Community Life

  • Support and model the Catholic identity and mission of St. Christopher Catholic School.
  • Lead students in daily prayer and participate in school liturgies and religious celebrations.
  • Encourage students to practice Gospel values such as kindness, responsibility, and service.

Classroom Environment & Student Support 

  • Create a safe, respectful, and faith-filled classroom environment.
  • Establish clear expectations for behavior and academic performance 
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development.
  • Collaborate with administration, specialist, and support staff to support individual student needs. 

Professional Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum planning and school initiatives
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and diocesan-required training
  • Uphold the policies and expectations of St. Christopher Catholic School and the Diocese of Columbus
  • Serve as a role model of professionalism. integrity, and Christian leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred). 
  • Valid Ohio teaching license or ability to obtain licensure
  • Practicing Catholic preferred
  • Experience teaching elementary or upper-elementary students preferred
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
